Benefits of Membership
Becoming a member of your Chamber of Commerce means we take an active role on your behalf with the power of our community connections and our many resources at your disposal. Your small investment in an annual membership ensures you have access the following services and opportunities to help promote your business in Toledo and beyond:
Chamber Office and Visitor Information Center
The Chamber Office is where we provide in person referrals to callers, walk ins, and to potential residents and/or businesses which are interested in relocating or requesting information about our community.
The Chamber tracks how many visitors, callers and information requests are received each month.
Members may provide copies of their brochures or business cards to display and distribution in the Chamber Office at no charge. The Chamber will also mail your brochure to people requesting your specific kind of business.
The Chamber Office will also post flyers and posters for your upcoming event in our window. Please provide us with two copies.
Map / Pocket Guide
The Chamber publishes the city map and brochure which includes information on dining, lodging, entertainment and other services which are distributed annually from the Chamber Office and throughout Toledo businesses and visitor centers in the Pacific Northwest.
Members may also purchase ad space in the guide for additional exposure and target marketing.
The Chamber’s Web Page www.visittoledooregon.com includes a free, detailed business listing which includes business name, address, hours of operation, telephone, e-mail, logo and up to eight key words, which provides our members with free, worldwide exposure.
Members who have a web page or Facebook page, may also have those hyperlinked to their Chamber listing at no additional charge.
Members receive the additional benefit of the Chamber posting announcements about your events, sales, specials, workshops or other activities on our own Facebook page and Twitter feeds.
Networking Events and Sponsorship Opportunities
Chamber members are invited to our monthly membership luncheons, after hours social gatherings, fundraisers, as well as annual Chamber events where business minded professionals can meet and greet other Chamber members to open the door to networking opportunities. Members can also be a presenter at one of the luncheons or events, participate in or sponsor local events, festivals, parades and other activities in Toledo.
Inviting other business associates, employees, family, friends and neighbors is highly encouraged.
Each month the Chamber newsletter is distributed to subscribers and media outlets throughout the region keeping readers up to date and informed on the many activities made possible through membership.
New members are announced and each month we feature a business in the “spotlight” section.
Members may also submit newsworthy features, specials, job openings, and events which creates additional free advertising exposure.
Each Wednesday the Chamber sends out a “News Flash” with special announcements and reminders for Chamber Members. For a minimal fee of just $10.00, you can request to have your information included in an upcoming News Flash with up to 80 words of text or a flyer/poster upload to promote your event.
Toledo’s community profile is distributed to potential residents and/or businesses who are interested in relocating or requesting information about our community. It is also used for promotion of our community at economic development trade shows and conferences. A line listing in the business resource guide section is free to all members with display advertising space available also.
Committees and Volunteering
Members may participate as team leaders or volunteers in our active and diverse community programs, events such as: Antique Street Fair, Art Walk, Car Show, Luncheons, Flower Baskets, Home Town Holiday, Lighted Parade, Quilt Quest, Seafood & Wine, Summer Festival, Wednesday Market, Wooden Boat Show, banquets, fundraisers and so much more!
Chamber members have free access to demographic information, maps, directories, and brochures from throughout the Pacific Northwest. These include: relocation inquiry list, real estate information, directory of County services, area maps, Newport area demographics, and information on schools, clubs and organizations.
Each member receives an official Toledo Chamber of Commerce plaque to display prominently and proudly.
Employee of the Month/Year Recognition
Each month, Chamber members or customers who patronize local businesses may submit a form to nominate an employee of the month for recognition at the monthly Chamber luncheon and in our newsletter and Facebook posts. At the end of the year, the membership will vote among the monthly winners for the Employee of the Year.
Volunteer of the Month/Year Recognition
Each month, Toledo residents may submit a form to nominate an volunteer of the month for recognition at the monthly Chamber luncheon and in our newsletter and Facebook posts. At the end of the year, the membership will vote among the monthly winners for the Volunteer of the Year.
The Toledo Chamber will loan our “GRAND OPENING” banner to new businesses who open their doors and will promote the opening in our newsletter and on Facebook in addition to hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony with members of our Board of Directors or the Chamber Director present.
Representation beyond Toledo
Our Board members and Director participate in conferences, trade shows, meetings and events beyond the boundaries of Toledo and at each of those, you and Toledo are being represented.
Additionally, the Toledo Chamber sponsors several annual events and promotes or works with other local entities on their events for the benefit of Toledo’s economic growth and community enhancement.
